    Worst Movie Ever!!!!

I would rate this movie at less than one star if that were an option. This was, without a doubt, the worst movie I have ever seen. To say this movie was of poor quality is to say that the weather in Antarctica is a touch on the cool side. As was the case with other reviewers I am also a fireman, and being a fireman actually makes this awful movie that much more painful to sit through, even with the fast forward button working overtime. It is painfully obvious that the director chose not to consult anyone regarding the firefighting aspects of this movie. I doubt he even consulted a dalmation. Directors have opted to not consult the fire service in the past and pulled it off, but this was beyond hilarious. He could have put forth a more accurate portrayal of the fire service by taking the kindergartner's tour at the local fire station. First of all, what city does this travesty of a film take place in? The patrol cars say Pittsburgh but the engines say L.A.? I guess Pittsburgh and L.A. must have some overlapping territory, probably near Denver. Secondly, what time period does this take place? During one scene you see a brand new fire engine indicating this takes place post 2000, but then in the very next scene you see a ladder truck with a bubble gum light and guys wearing top guard helmets. (read: helmets from over 25 years ago). Clearly this scene was from some other movie, filmed many many years ago, which probably wasn't much better than this one. I have seem my fair share of bad acting, I think we all have. I was in a fraternity and have had occasion to watch one or two films of an adult nature and the acting in those films is on par with Shawshank Redemption compared to this. I am not sure who the mental midget was that green lighted this project, but I have a feeling it is the same person who hits on a 20 in blackjack. Once again Tom Arnold proves his ability to only appear in 'classics'. If I were Roseanne I would have divorced him after this movie, and the judge would have awarded me everything. I wouln't use this dvd as a coaster in my house and I am ashamed to even have the firsthand knowledge about this movie to write this review. I wish I could say this was one of those 'it's so bad it's actually good' movies, but that would be a flat out lie. It's just bad, plain and simple. It's like 3 week old milk. There is nothing you can do, say or put that milk into that makes you forget it is 3 week old milk. I am tempted to drink a case of beer and watch this movie while standing on my head to see if possibly it could be better, but I have a feeling that the combination of the beer, 1.5 hour headstand and the superb acting would cause me to be violently ill. If you are considering buying this movie I suggest you take your $10 and invest in Enron. You will have a better return on your assets.

    This is acting?

I just finished watching this movie and that only because I didn't want to waste the rental money. While there were some okay actors struggling to make do with a poor story line, they just couldn't overcome the lack of coherence. Where were all the police, where were the Emergency teams, come on -- where was the media???? And like the reviewer before me, after reading the movie jacket, I believed it was about an arsonist, which is not true. Hmm, must been the same writer that penned the moviescript. Very poorly done.

    Why Make Movies that Suck?

If I was a betting man, I would bet that Guiness could award this movie with the record, ''World's Worst Movie Ever''. I too am a firefighter and I too was deceived by the movie box but I have never wanted to go back to Blockbuster and demand my money back until now. After the first 30 minutes of watching this movie (in a firehouse with other fireman)I stopped the tape and wanted to lay it under the wheel of my firetruck and drive over it. By far this was the worst acting, worst portrayal of real life, and worst movie ICE-T has ever signed his name to. NEVER WATCH THIS MOVIE for the sake of your I.Q. And if you happen to know the writer, slap him for making this garbage.

    Poor Poor Movie

I am a firefighter and rented this movie with the notion that it was going to show some great special effects and contain a storyline with that of Backdraft. First off, the back of the box says that this movie is about an arsonist. There is no arsonist in this film, the fires are accidential and even show some facts about accidential fires. This had some good acting at times but you could tell that it was still acting. The special effects were anything but special. Sped up film to to make the fire apear that it's spreading fast and poor back drops make this film a poor film to watch. The story line is non existant and there are parts to this movie that don't make any since to the rest of the plot (i/e/ the first 8 minutes with Ice-T). I would try to avoid this film like the plague.
