    I am so thrilled!

Finally, the brilliant Margaret Rutherford movies of Miss Marple have been released in DVD format. If you are not familiar with the Margaret Rutherford character you are in for a real treat, throughly entertaining, light hearted and fun, her character is truly endearing. You will not be disapointed.

    I Also Recommend:

    A Wonderful Collection of Who-Done-Its.

I have loved Agatha Christie since I first read her books when I was in my teens. I have seen many Miss Marple movies, but these are by far the best. Dame Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple is funny, quirky, sarcastic and warm at the same time. How Miss Marple arrives at her conclusions is pure Agatha Christie brilliance. I can't really choose a favorite from the four movies, but I do watch "Murder She Said" most often. I think it may be because it was the first film I saw on PBS in the 80's. You will fall in love with her and all the supporting characters. From Inspector Craddock who always seems to be one step behind Miss Marple to her dear friend Mr. Stringer (played by Stringer Davis-her husband in real life) and all the other charectors who bring the story to life you will find yourself enjoying each film for its own special qualities. My grand children love to watch them with me. Enjoy.

Love Margaret R. and Joan H. as Miss Marple

These movies are very entertaining, and I highly recommend Margaret Rutherford's Miss Marple movies as well as Joan Hickson's. Steer clear of the the Geraldine M. ones however, as she is badly miscast as Miss Marple.

    CLASSIC AS IT'S BEST!

After long searching for the British version of Miss Marple, finally I found the entire collection. This entire collection is full of suspence and laughter. I was hooked with Margaret Rutherford from the beginning. She made it leaving you with a sense of wanting to watch the next film. I watched the first film on my cable channel, and I loved it. Even my though my roommates were reluctant at first, they absolutely fell in love with them. My favorite film from this collection is Murder at the Gallop. I wish everyone could buy these films. Just give them a try! You will not be disappointed!

    Finally, she's here.

This is the first Miss Marple. No, physically she is not what Agatha Christie had in mind, that was Joan Hickson (who, by the way, appears as the housekeeper in the first film). Regardless, she is absolutely wonderful in the role and, as a kid, she was my first introduction to the character which I have been in love with ever since. One thing to keep in mind, Margaret Rutherford was a comedienne. So, these mysteries have a fine, subtle, humor to them, which makes them a complete delight.
