    Gripping from the beginning

I saw this first when it premiered on HBO, so I was glad I was able to get it on DVD now. Very interesting with the history of AIDS from the beginning and the problems with misinformation and lack of funds needed to try to combat this deadly disease. Packed with many top Hollywood actors also help make this easy to watch. Would highly recommend to everyone.

    Wonderful for classroom discussion

I am a Medical Billing & Coding teacher and this movie is the perfect film to show while teaching Medical Law and Ethics. What a wonderfully eye opening and provacative movie.

This movie has a perfect educational value

There should be more movies about AIDS. AIDS is a global disease, over 40 million people are infected with HIV. These kind of movies will help to reveal AIDS from the darkspots in people's mind. We have to talk about AIDS, and these kind of movies will help to do so. This movie has a perfect educational value, it could be shown on High Schools or at Home. We have to STOP AIDS NOW!

    Great Movie!!!

And the Band Played On is probably the best movie made for TV. Matthew Modine was awesome in this movie. His performance was moving and powerful. The movie also has a great cast including Lily Tomlin and Steve Martin. The movie industry needs to start making movies like And the Band Played On for the screen not TV.

It was a Great Movie and very well done

I think they should make more movie on AIDS because my brother died from AIDS in 1993..He has been gone 10 years now.and there hasn't been enough movies about AIDS..they need to make another one..and change how many have it now..I have told my brother's story in many of school's and the Youth today didn't know AIDS was that bad..It needs to be taken off the back burner..Our Young people are dying everyday with AIDS..because no one tells them enough about it and how you can get it..We need hollywoods help by making another movie like ''And the Band Played On''

    A Must See

This is a wonderful piece of cinematic history. This made-for-tv movie, will be as important to teaching about the beginning of the AIDS epidemic as ''Schindler's List'' is for the Holocaust. With a strong story line, and stellar performances by an all-star cast (no doubt, the effect AIDS had on the arts communities played a large part in why so many of these actors wanted to be a part of this important project), this is a wonderful and important film.
