    Wonderful

Hands down best show ever! I didn't watch the original, but Starbuck has to be my favorite character. They really get into Kara and Lee's relationship this season and i LOVE that! I can't wait for Season 3!

    An excellent first half!!

This series just keeps getting better. Character development and dialogue are top-notch, and the drama couldn't be more intense sometimes. It is good to look at this series as the sum of its parts, even the bad parts, which are very, very few. The ideas that bubble up from the human species on the verge of extinction will keep this series going for quite a few years (hopefully!) My only gripe would be that it's not as long as the first boxed set. Thank God there are no commercials.

    If there was any justice...

... this show would be leading the pack in terms of Emmys, Golden Globes, People's Choice, DGA, and SAG Awards. It still boggles my mind that the entertainment community still shuns sci-fi and genre. This is an amazing show. In the capable hands of Ron Moore, it has far surpassed its predecessor and is one of the few shows on television that consistently makes you think. The writing and directing are not only consistent, but spot-on in terms of continuity, characterization, and relevency to today's world. Of course, this is the sort of high-quality penning that I have come to expect from Ron Moore, having enjoyed many an episode of Deep Space 9 penned by him. In terms of acting calibre, there isn't a cast as good as this anywhere on television. This is an ensemble show that makes use of not only its principle and title characters, but also its recurring cast as well. Led by Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell, this cast is flawless. Jamie Bamber as the classic hero Apollo and Katee Sackoff as the terminally screwed up Starbuck have genuine rooting power behind both of them. Grace Park is both sympathetic and dangerous as the Cylon deserter Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, and Tricia Helfer and James Callis are both frightening and amusing as the traitor-cum-vice-president and the Cylon chip in his head Number Six. In the finale "Pegasus," Helfer proves that she's more than the T&A quotient with a disquieting performance as Gina, yet another copy of the Number Six Cylon. The entire theme of this DVD set is family. In the beginning of the season, the family was fractured and divided and by the final hour it had reunited to face a formidable threat in the form of its long-lost "cousins" who arrived on the Pegasus. This season featured great guest stars, including Lucy Lawless as a Colonial reporter and Michelle Forbes as a classic not-quite hero/not-quite villain in the role of Admiral Caine. Some people think that all the hoopla surrounding Battlestar Galactica is a big joke. The rest of us have actually seen this excellent show.

    5 stars is not enough

These first 10 episodes of the 2nd season are some of the finest, most explosive sci fi to be found throughout the history of this genre. There simply is no better sci fi to watch, none. Do yourself a favor and buy this DVD set, you won't regret it.
