    A History Buffs Dreeam

The personal insights that are presented in this series gives one a view into the real world of historical figures that are viewed as bordering on the mythological. This is a must view series for the serious historians of Churchill and those around him as seen through the eyes of his bodyguard. The meetings with President Roosevelt and Stalin show the complexities of the personalities involved in not only winning the war but in the aftermath of the war as well.
I was especially struck by the influence that Colonel Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) on the vast populations of North Africa. It is the little things that are brought out in this work that brings these people alive and reminds us of a terrible time in history as well as the great suffering that the British people had to endure as well as those in the rest of Europe and the world.
It is a deeply personal view of the times and a must see and own from a historical point of view.
