One of the Best Foreign Films
This is a film I've wanted to see all summer and I finally got the chance. The trailers might be a bit misleading so here's the synopsis:Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
Professor Sckolnick has spent his entire life studying the Talnuk scripts (ancient Hebrew text) to complete his late professor's work. However, his son, Yuriel Sckolnick has surpassed him as a teacher and professor who uses the same text to examine and define the modern Jewish family. After 20 years of pursuing the prestegise Jewish Academy Award for science the old scholar, Sckolnick is informed that he has finally won, despite the ridicule of his peers. However, the celebration is premature when Sckolnick's won, Yuriel is informed that there was a mix up and he was supposed to receive the award and not his father.
Needless to say the film is both funny and heartwarming. Lots of great twists and turns, a wonderful moral and a great film by an incredible director. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
