Because They Said So
How this movie won the Academy Award for Best Picture over Pulp Fiction and Quiz Show will be as great a mystery as Stonehenge or the Bermuda Triangle. Sure it is cute and the scenes with famous people are cool (though denatured on television) but essentially this is like listening to one piano note played over and over for nearly four hours (much like Rainman). Fortunately we are spared from learning a valuable lesson about the mentally challenged and instead are treated to little vignettes where the insipid but well-meaning Forrest globehops from incident to incident either screwing them up or gaining advantage. As frightening as Triumph of the Will, this film should serve as a warning of what is going to happen to us if we embrace the stupid. This is already occuring at an astonishing pace judicially. Well, you were warned. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
