    A Good Show

The show is about a girl with no family who learns that the family she is staying with is cursed. Members of the Soma family who are run into by the opposite sex are transformed into animals from the chinese zodiac, and because of this they are very private and shut off from normal people. This is a show about friendship and trying to find a place to be accepted for who you are. Throughout the show the girl meets more and more of the Soma family and each time they have more of an adventure. Overall this is about friendship and family and finding caring people to surround yourself with.

    Smiles~ ***** Five stars!

Fruits Basket (Natsuki Takaya) is the most amazing anime I've seen yet, (And, believe me, I've seen many). It touches hearts in a way that only Japanese fiction will.
It's about a girl, Tohru (who is the most self-less person I've ever seen in an anime, or read in a manga) who, through a string of events, ends up living in the Sohma's house. From then on, nothing is the same. Kyo, Yuki, and Shigure are only a few of the characters. In the end, Tohru-kun ends up getting married... but to who? Is her future husband the cold Hatori? Or the hyper-but-adorable-Momiji? Or, maybe, is it Kyo or Yuki?

Only if you get this (or watch it somewhere else) can you know the answer. I recommend that you read the manga. I don't think it matters, before or after you watch the anime. But you NEED to read the manga, too. But if you read the manga, you need to watch the anime. If you've watched the anime, you need to read the manga. If you've done both, kudos for you! I applaud you!

    Five stars... totally.

You will learn so much from this anime! It touches the heart of the bullied, the jealous, the hopeless romantic, the fighter, a person who hates another... it has many morals and I recommend this to almost anyone.

There is mild language and violence. In some of the later episodes, Ren comes in. There is sexual reference. There is one episode that has Kyo asking if Shigure is drunk. Recommended for people 9+

I Love This Anime!!!! Fruits Basket is a funny and sweet anime

I Love This Anime!!!! Fruits Basket is a funny and sweet anime series with a great storyline and characters who have emotions that seem more real than in other anime. The artwork is soft and beautiful. I would recommend this anime series for those who love or like Sailor Moon, Pretear, Cardcaptors, or Ouran High School Host Club.
This is NOT a violent-type of anime even though there are a few funny fight scenes and some disturbing scenes involving Akito (the Leader / The Dragon) and other members of the Zodiac.
There are many scenes where the boys/men who shape-shift into the animals of the Zodiac change back into boys/men - which is quite funny since they are nude when they change back!
Definitely for people 13 years old and older due to mild violence and sexually based comments.

The best show I've seen in a long time.

Fruits basket is a story that I picked up in it's manga form. Ever since reading about Tohru's first encounter with Shigure (even though I though he was a girl at first) I was immediatley drawn into Takaya-sensei's work. I used to love the show Avatar the last Airbender, and when it went off air, I was very sad. But then, I discovered Fruits Basket; and, as stupid as it seems, the book actually made me forget about how sad I was. So, this is an extremely wonderful dvd collection. Highly reccommended. I must say, though, it does have quite a few differences. But that's want makes it all the more interesting! ^-^
