    Bitter Sweet

Silence of the Lambs is amazing. It has got to be the scariest movie i've ever seen!! The scene where Starlin is in the dark in the killer's house is so suspenseful, I almost can't watch it alone!! But Hannibal was dissapointing. I enjoyed the scenery and classical does lend an air of creepiness to the movie. But the movie was just too gory and in-your-face; it doesn't capture the subtelty that the first movie had. I'd wait until Red Dragon is released rather than buying this 2 movie set - maybe they'll include Red Dragon in the next set so you can get the whole trilogy together... Although Hannibal wasn't the best, I would still want all three in my collection...

    mixed reaction

Although 'Silence of the Lambs' is possibly the best film ever made, 'Hannibal' was very disappointing. The plot moved too quickly, it did not get into the character of Hannibal Lector and the ending was unrealistic. The book to 'hannibal' was excellent, it is a shame that they couldn't keep the magic going for the film. Also Clarice Starlin's accent in 'Hannibal' was appaling and so was her acting. She was wooden and not at all like the original Clarice.
