    You Made it, Joan!

I was never a big fan of Joan Rivers - thinking she was nothing but insulting, crass and a bully. Well, this documentary is absolutely brilliant. What you see is a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and a extraordinarily hard working woman. I never expected to see Ms. Rivers so sensitive. The DVD/Blu-ray is witty, sad at times and so very true to life - the ups and downs of being a woman in show business. One would expect the industry to be a highly glamorous and rewarding world. Not the case, the movie shows with such candidness. Being that she has allegedly been snubbed by the nominating committee for an Oscar "says it all" about how unfair ladies are treated in a field of higher paying men. This makes the film all the more believable, entertaining and painfully honest. Cheers to you, Ms. Rivers. You made it - - finally! Watch the flick and you will understand and I think relate, no matter your gender. I own both the DVD and Blu-ray versions.
