This is one of those really weird films that catches you by surprise that it actually has characters you get to know and feel for.
Kudrow is very good in this as the wife of a National Guardsman who's term in Iraq has been extended. She really shows the strain of being behind worrying while trying to care for her children. The kids, by the way, are hilarious. Scott Prendergast doesn't talk much in this film and does such a wonderful job with physical acting that you don't feel you're missing anything. A lot of the scenes with him in the mascot suit can only be described as surreal; that blue nameless thing in the middle of an empty field, standing by the side of an empty road, etc. 'Kabluey' takes a very serious subject and story and gives you something to laugh about as you get attached to the characters. Was this review helpful?
