EXCELLENT-SUPURB ACTING, GREAT STORY, FABULOUS MUSIC ESPECIALLY!!!!

Woody Allen is odd-we all know this. But he is also very talented. He directed this and wrote the screen play. He incorporated the opera music so stunningly and at such kee points in the movie that as you travel through each scene, it is more meaningful - there are such subtle, beautiful operatic arias from many years back which also adds to the uniqueness of this film. When I viewed this film for the first time, it was because I am a Johansson fan; she is perfect for HER role here. But what I found was that ALL the actors were just great and Jonathan Rhys Meyers was superb, so handsome, so perfect for his role. The setting is London including beautiful countryside and estates but it is the story and its intrigue that is continually satisfying. Woody Allen knows human behavior, knows what people are capable of, even those who are upper class, educated, have always done the right thing etc etc. At the risk of sounding conceited, I'll just say that the reviewers who did not like this film maybe have a hard time sitting still, or like only action films, or find British films boring, or don't appreciate someone like Allen illustrating human behavior in his odd but amazing ways. For movie lovers, it's a must, a classic. By the way, Jonathan Rhys Meyers played King Henry VIII on the ShowTime cable network mini-series which was fabulous. So for those of you who also love British work, both this film and the ShowTime series are must haves.

    EXCELLENT!

The movie is magical & the british accents are lovely! Though, it starts as a type of love story ... it slowly adds twists and turns that will have you consumed and wondering what will happen next. I highly recommend it!
