Addicted to Moonlight

I absolutely loved this series. I am so sorry it didn't make the ratings to keep it on air. I tuned in every Friday and this show fed me my vampire craving every time.

I couldn't find it in the product recommendations but if you liked Moonlight you will like Kindred: The Embraced.

Now, I need another series to obsess about.

MOONLIGHT!! AWESOME!! CBS SUCKS!!! YEAH FOR SCI-FI!!

I loved watching the show when it came out on CBS. It's clasic, vampire in love with human, and wants to be human in return. It's very touching. Now I just found out that they are going to be reairing the first season on SCI-FI on Fridays at 8pm. I can't wait to buy the season. Hopefully SCI-FI will see how popular the show is and then they might pick it up for a second season.

    I Also Recommend:

    It's a shame, only 16 episodes

Moonlight was a cute, escapist, fun show. It took the vampire lore into a modern and lightfilled world. No longer did the vampire have to hide when the sun came out and no longer did the show have to be filmed only at night. The actors were easy to watch, they took their roles seriously, yet allowed for the audience to see the fun they were having. I hate that CBS decided to cancel this show in the wake of the writers strike, I feel the network didn't give it a chance to find itself. Thus we as fans only have 16 shows to enjoy, but enjoy we will and I recommend to anyone who missed the shows, or want to watch them again and again to purchase the set. Put on your most comfortable clothes, get something to drink, settle into the couch and enjoy the adventures of Mick, Beth, Joseph and company, you'll be entertained for 16 hours at least.

    Moonlight

Too bad that network TV seems to kill off the more original series before they really get going. At least they did release the entire season on DVD. We found this to be an interesting take on the traditional vampire story. Well written and acted, the plot lines aren't telegraphed to you, they are interesting and suprising.
And honestly a little eye candy in vampiric shape doesn't hurt either!

If you like the show you'll like the DVDs

If you didn't see the show it is about a 40 something (in vampire years) vampire who is kind of another whiner aka Forever Knight. (I don't want to be a vampire...) who starts to interact with a young woman he rescued as a young child from his ex wife-the vampire who turned him as a honeymoon gift. She thinks he looks familiar but can't place the face... Things grow from there.

On the down side: the show starts off v e r y s l o w while they give you his back story and their version of vampire mythology. Probably why it didn't catch on with non genre watchers. IMHO there was also very little chemistry between the leads.

On the up side: the show gets better after they've establish the vampire can's and can't's in their universe and by the last few episodes the stories are very good. Another plus is the lovely Jason Dohring as Joseph - the older, wiser vampire who took over the role of mentor to the newly vamped mentorless Mick.

To sum up, if you are really into vampires, like departures from the traditional vampire mythos, and willing to sit through the slow parts, you will like the collection. If not, avoid it like you would stakes and sunshine.
