If I hadn't been at the theater with friends I would have walked out half way through the movie. It made no sense. I was exasperated with it. But then, about half way through something turned a corner, and it went from being potentially my most hated film to being my favorite. A few pieces started falling into place and I went from hating the non-linear, non-sensical narrative to absorbed in trying to make sense of it.

No plot. No story. No ending. No sense. Absolutely pointless! Although David Lynch directed the film wonderfully, it lacked a complete plot. The nightmarish dark streets and the confusing lost feeling were well done by Lynch. The story would have been good if it actually had an end. Some say that the end is really an explanation to every thing before it, the end being the beginning, that she¿s really dead and having an afterlife experience. But there¿s no real proof of that. The movie is probably not in chronological order, and that¿s the only way it¿ll make some sense. The love story behind it was senseless as well; the two lesbians were just there to attract audiences, I actually thought that the lesbian thing had purpose to the story¿but I soon found out it didn¿t. At first I thought the movie was supposed to make you think, or you¿re left several possibilities at the end but not complete answers like in Memento. But it didn¿t. Either the movie was symbolic, out of chronological order, or David Lynch was just on drugs during the whole time it took to make this movie.

    This film made no sense!

Ok... this movie made no sense... it was stupid. Naomi Watts is such a good actress but when i saw this is thought she should not have been in a film this bad.... her acting wasnt what made this film bad... the film was just confusing!

    HUH?

It was hard to get into. When I finally became interested it totally through me off again! I sat and watched scratching my head and shaking it with disappointment. I just couldn't grasp the concept. It put me in mind of Pulp Fiction with the subplots but it never seemed to tie together later in the movie. It left me saying HUH? I love mysteries and psycological twists but this left me a bit unsatisfied.
