    MY BLOODY VALENTINE

First off, I am not a lover of remakes or reimaginings. With that said, there are a few movies that have been redone I have enjoyed and this is one of them. It is a flip on the original, gorier of course and also moody. The 3D aspect is forgetable, yet I did enjoy finding the 3D moments in the 2D version. The acting is fne, plot is fine and is not one of the best horror movies ever made, but it did revamp the original a tad. Give it a viewing or two, especially around the actaul holiday.

    Bloody Good Cheer

Years ago the original My Bloody Valentine created quite a stir with its unabashed violence and haunting setting. With the release of the remake, gore is expected and twist on the original is nothing new. But, this remake does what others don't. It takes itself away from what you expect and just creates a damn good horror movie. The 3D effects are pretty decent, although it could have used more. The fact that veteran horror movie actor Tom Atkins is present gives it a boost. The only things i felt would have made this spectacular in the realm of remakes is it it would have kept the pivitol mine scene in the end and along with the credits they played the original's folksy song.
