If you like Sci-Fi this is a Must-See!!

There is an extremely dangerous airborne virus killing the population of a small California town. While the army is trying to isolate the town, an army doctor, played by Dustin Hoffman, and his crew including Rene Russo, and Cuba Gooding Jr., are searching for a cure. They will eventually discover that this virus is not unknown to some people in the military. The bad thing is that these people holding a powerful position in the military, including roles played by Morgan Freeman and Donald Sutherland, would prefer to wipe out the town rather than to help find out how this plague has entered the country. A monkey that is carrying the virus was captured for research in Africa and taken to the United States, which is the way the virus came into this country. The reason the virus spread so quickly is because one of the employees stole the monkey to sell to a pet store and set him free. This enabled him, the monkey, to run rampant coming in contact with several people who then came in contact with others causing an epidemic. Outbreak is a sci-fi action thriller movie that came out in the year 1995 directed by Wolfgang Peterson. This movie was suspenseful with a little bit of everything. The movie is rated R for language because it has occasional profanity. It has a mix of action, humor & horror. After watching the movie, it really makes you think about this actually happening because it is possible. You realize how things easily take a turn for the worst because of one person not knowing the consequences of their actions. Overall it’s a good movie, I’d give it a 9 on a scale from 1-10.

    A Thriller

Outbreak focuses on a deadly Virus, which is transported into the U.S. by a monkey from the jungles of Zaire, Africa. When this deadly disease spreads in a California town, a group of scientists realize that it could spread through the rest of the United States in a matter of days. But as the military quarantine becomes tighter and tighter, the head scientist begins to suspect that something else is going on, and that he himself might be in danger for knowing it. I myself found this movie very interesting. I would recommend this movie to anyone. Other movies that have been seen that are similar and interesting like this one are The Plague Fighters, and Killer Disease On Campus-meningitis. Outbreak was a movie that caught a lot of attention by a lot of people. I would rate this movie a 9 out of 10!

    The Outbreak

The movie I am reviewing is called "The Outbreak". This movie was made in 1995, and my rating for it is a perfect ten. I recommend this movie to viewers who like adrenaline, and also love science. The main actors in this movie are Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Donald Sutherland, Dustin Hoffman, and Kevin Spacey. The Director of this movie is Wolfgang Peterson. This movie is sort of a science fiction movie, but it relates to many things in today's world. Things like AIDS, STDs, Polio, and other diseases that can be easily spread to unknown victims. This movie is based on a killer virus that has taken over a California community, and an army virologist (Dustin Hoffman) who strives to battle those who think that the only way to stop the disease is to firebomb the whole town. The virus was spread by a monkey who drank the diseased water and was brought to the small town, and one thing led to another and the disease seemed to spread in a blink of an eye. In my opinion, this movie can teach you many aspects of science. For instance, how vaccines work, diseases spread, how a disease and microbes becomes airborne, and many other new things that our minds tend to ignore. Also, one could learn how the army troops are not only used for war, but also for many other things in our society that we wouldn't even think of, such as protecting us from the ravages of viruses and bacteria.

    good movie, but bad science

This is a great suspense movie, but if you're looking for something with accurate science, it's not for you. It's hard to correct the science without giving away anything, but developing drugs takes years of research, and the only known cures are for bacteria...

    Amazing

This is the best movie I've ever seen. The science facts are dead-on and the way they handled the situation was accurate as well. The only problem I had was the ending. It was too Hollywood.
