I am probably the easiest person in the entire universe to scare

I am probably the easiest person in the entire universe to scare. However, I am a sucker for horror films, I love them. There are various types of scary movies out now, but the scariest I have come across so far was Paranormal Activity. Nothing scares me more than a demon movie. This is the scariest film for me because of the fact that it is based on a true story and the way it ends.
Paranormal Activity is about a couple that moves into this new home, Katie and Micah. Katie has an interest in the paranormal and believes that wicked spirits have been following her since childhood, although Micah does not believe her. However, after several nights of loud noises and strange happenings, Micah starts to agree with Katie that some sort of ghost have followed them to their new home. After a paranormal researcher tells the couple that he cannot help them, Micah decides to take control of the situation and sets up video cameras so that if a spirit reveals itself, he can capture its behavior on tape. They leave the cameras rolling while they sleep and record strange sounds and objects moving over several nights. Katie hires a psychic, who suggests the troubles aren't the work of a ghost but a demon. The incidents increase in intensity, including Katie sleepwalking during the night. But, it is not the house that is haunted. It is Katie. Katie is possessed by the entity and ends up killing Micah. She tossed him into the bedroom camera. Micah's body is later discovered by the police, but to this day, nobody knows where Katie is located.
This horror film is based on a true story which makes this movie way more frightening. Katie in real life was actually possessed by a demon and she, in reality, kills her husband. This makes you wonder about a lot of things. Could this happen to me? Or could this happen to somebody I know? Why do these things happen to people? No one really knows the accurate answers. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions. But, just knowing that this could really happen leaves you with chill bumps. All through the movie, it gives you the dates that all these events happen on. One date even took place on my birthday. The day that I was celebrating my birth, Katie was being haunted by a demon. I couldn’t imagine this happening to a loved one or even myself.
The ending was jaw-dropping. The way it finishes will leave you shocked and startled. Most scary movies have a happy ending and they defeat the enemy, but, not Paranormal Activity. Katie never does get the demon out of her and ends up killing her husband, Micah. She disappears and is never found. No one knows if she’s dead, alive, or what. The film doesn’t even tell you why it was Katie that was being tortured by the demon. Why did the demon choose her? Why not Micah? The ending only leaves you confused and terrified.
All in all, being a horror film lover I would most definitely recommend Paranormal Activity. I wouldn’t so much recommend you watching this film by yourself or with the lights out. This movie will leave you at the edge of your seat. I literally slept with my lights on in my room for three days straight. I have seen a numerous amount of horror films but this is, by far, the most terrifying horror film I have ever seen. After all, it is based on a true story.

    My Kind of Movie
As a kid, I would watch several scary movies that would give me goose bumps, but as I grew older I found it hard to find a movie that would make me jump of the couch. There is only one movie that has really made me hide under the blanket and that is Paranormal Activity 2. Paranormal Activity 2 is scary because it had good imagery, sound effects and it was also based on a true story.
Paranormal Activity 2 is about a family that has been haunted for ages. Due to the devotion of the devil and bad spirits by the family’s ancestors, they begin to be tormented by these entities. The only way the family can get rid of the demonic entities is by sacrificing the first male born child. Sadly, none of the generations before the last family’s generation had a male child. Two young sisters around their twenties’ were the last generation of this cursed family and neither of them had any knowledge about the “legend” that the family held for ages. It all started when the oldest sister got married and had her first child, which was a boy. A baby boy was brought into the family and the demon was coming to claim its gift.
The film was my favorite because it had good imagery. The movie was high quality that when I sat there watching it, I felt as if I was in the movie. It had a part where one of the sisters was dragged across the house into the basement and it was so realistic. At some point I raised my feet over the seat, because I felt as if the entity was going to pull my feet. One of the best parts of the movie was when the oldest sister was grabbed from the waist and thrown around the room; she was being attacked by the demon and when the demon was done, he tosses her toward the camera. Although the movie was not 3D, the producers managed to incorporate much imagery that gave it the third dimension feel. It was surreal and that really made the movie standout.
Another reason why this movie is one of my favorite scary movies is because the movie had lots of great sound effects. As children, the little girls would experience many creepy noises and as they grew older the noises faded away, but as the new family member joined the family the noises appeared. One specific part of the movie was when the oldest sister hears a noise in the kitchen so she decides to go check, it was quiet and dark, and all the sudden “BANG” all the kitchen cabinets are opened. And there goes everyone in the theater jumping off their seats. The sound affects added an intense mood to the climax of the movie and it was a huge part of the movie.
Lastly, the movie was based on a true story. I love when movies are based on a true story because throughout the entire movie I am left with a state of mind that, the same situation could happen to me. Movies like that are fascinating because sometimes people are too close minded to believe on that kind of situations and it’s unbelievable how some can actually relate to a few experiences that the movie incorporates.
Although, this movie was not one of the scariest movies in the world, I believe Paranormal Activity 2 was my kind of scary movie. The things that were incorporated in the movie made it a highlight since my movie watching career. I would recommend this movie to those people who say that no movie can make them jump. Believe me, this movie will.

    Highly Recommended

Paranormal Activity was one of my favorite horror movies.
The first aspect of the movie i loved was the story itself. Just the thought of this sctually happening to me was horrifying. The actions of the actors were realistic. Another part of he movie I enjoyed was the home camera. It made for a prospective that made me feel like i was there. The non-perfection of the camera operators attributed to the realistic factor. What i most enjoyed about Paranormal Activity was that the movie was based on true events. Without a doubt, i would recommend anyone to see this movie!

    Paranormal Activity

Low budget indie films have been a good way for amateur filmmakers to break out for a long time. Kevin Smith broke out with a black and white movie made for $67,000 called Clerks; El Mariachi, made for only $7,000, turned Robert Rodriguez into a big name rebel director in the 90's. Horror is a harder medium to make it in the low budget arena. A field dominated by gory and effects driven movies these days, horror saw a megahit in 1999's Blair Witch Project. Made for only $11,000, Blair Witch Project has often been duplicated, but the success was never repeated. Here we are, 10 years later, and a new phenomenon has come around with Paranormal Activity, a movie that doesn't try to be Blair Witch, but exceeds expectations. Made also for only $11,000, Paranormal Activity has made a huge splash in the mainstream breaking records in the process (in it's first weekend it broke $7 million in only 200 theaters), but is it really worth all the fuss?

After a series of "supernatural" events have happened in their house, Micah, decides to get a video camera to substantiate their claims of a haunting. Katie (who's engaged to be engaged to Micah) has had these supernatural events happen to her since she was 8, she wants them to stop, and while she's not entirely comfortable with Micah recording the events, she goes along with it. They meet with a psychic who feels they're dealing with a demon and suggests a demonologist to help them take care of their problem. Micah doesn't take it seriously, and believes they can get rid of their visitor without outside help. Despite Katie's warnings and worry, Micah keeps trying to provoke the entity. Tensions build, tempers flare, and the paranormal activity gets more intense till it finally reaches the breaking point.

Originally bought by Paramount with the intention of owning the rights to remake the movie with a better budget and bigger names, Paranormal Activity fares better without the higher production values of a big budget film. Shot with one handheld camera and without a score, the movie feels completely real. The use of unknown actors also gives the film a more authentic feel, and it helps that they don't really feel like they're acting as well. As each day unfolds, we find ourselves prisoners in the house, which adds to the claustrophobic feel of the movie. We learn every nook and cranny of the house, so we notice the moving shadows, and the changes that occur all the more later on in the film.

All in all, Paranormal Activity is a very well done horror film, stripping away many of the conventions we see in horror film, relying on real scares rather than gore or music cues to instill a sense of tension and fear in the audience. I highly recommend seeing this in theaters if you have the opportunity, the atmosphere of seeing this with others really helps with adding fear to the proceedings as large groups intensify the feeling among those in the group. For those of you planning on taking the children, there is foul language, but on top of that the film does start off slowly and the more nuanced scenes may be lost on a younger audience. Definitely give this film as a chance as it is worth the hype, even if only for the last scene of the movie!
