An even guiltier pleasure in HD

As much as I, or anyone else, may go on and on about obscure and/or arthouse/foreign films...everyone has their guilty pleasures, and this is one of my guiltiest, being a halfway decent blend of horror thrills, zombie mayhem, some pretty cool action sequences, and of course, Milla Jovovich.

The three films of the RE trilogy are actally rather different from each other, though they all ultimately promote and compliment and are unified.

The first one, is more thrills, scares, and action. The second film, the lackluster one of the bunch, but I've grown to like it, it furthers the plot and seems more sequel-ready and action-oriented. The third one, is something different as well, taking place post-apocolypse of sorts and with the main character (played by Jovovich) gaining rather entertaining and insane "super" powers as the films progress, this one borders more in the sci-fi, world-ending genre.

Milla Jovovich is probably best kmown for her high-profile roles here and in "The Fifth Element," but these as competent as they are, nowhere prepared for me the fact that this "kick-butt action star" can actually act (see ".45" or "A Perfect Getaway.") She may also be more well known for her modeling career.

There are a lot of trilogies and the like out on Blu-Ray...this isn't the best, but it's definitely a welcome addition to a HD collection.
