    Better Than the First One!

    4.5 out of 5

The Umbrella Corporation needs to know what happened at the Hive and why it was sealed up afterward, so a team is sent down there to open it. Unfortunately, when they do, they unleash an army of the undead and the T-virus is unleashed on the world.

Alice (Milla Jovovich) wanders the streets of Raccoon City, now under quarantine, blasting the heads off of anything dead that moves. Soon she saves Valentine (Sienna Guillory) and crew and the group is quickly contacted by Dr. Ashford (Jared Harris) whose daughter, Angie (Sophie Vavasseur), is still in the city. Umbrella Corporation scanners show her at the school she attends. The deal: if they save his daughter, he'll guide them out of the city and past the perimeter Umbrella has put up to keep the T-virus in. They have to do this before sunrise otherwise they won't make it out before Umbrella nukes the entire city, erasing any trace that the T-virus existed and reanimated the dead.

Oh, and the Nemesis Project is online, and it's on the hunt.

Usually sequels fail after the first, or if they succeed, it's only by a small margin. Well, Resident Evil: Apocalypse is even better than its predecessor and brings another haul of thrills and chills along with it. In this one the post-apocalyptic feel hangs thick on the air. Raccoon City is in ruins. Cars are overturned and on fire. Bodies and blood litter the streets. Guns are going off in the distance.

And zombies are everywhere. Good and gruesome zombies. (I particularly liked the ones featured in the cemetery; the level of rot and decay on those things was exquisite.)

In Resident Evil style, dark things lurk in the shadows and the suspense and tension built in this movie is awesome. I jumped I don't know how many times. Even the parts where you go, "Okay, something's going to pop out . . . NOW!" make you jump. Very cool.

The fight between Nemesis and Alice was cool along with her other wheelings and dealings with the undead. Her super solider-esque, Matrix-like fighting techniques was a treat to watch.

That scene in the school with all those zombie kids? Truly creepy. Adult zombies got nothing on these little terrors.

The movie serves as a nice in-betweener for the first and third. The epic scale of storytelling is terrific, and this is one zombie saga I'm eager to see go on, especially when part four (Resident Evil: Afterlife) comes out in 2011.

    Recommended.

I agree with anyone who said....

I'd really like to give this movie 1 star because it dissapointed me so much, but it wasn't that horribly bad. The storyline went well with the games. The horror parts.... Oh wait, I forgot, their weren't any. Completely action. Not scary at all. A little bit of scare on the first RE. The movie just kind of takes away from the idea of the game. The scare. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure I don't remember any matrix like women in the game. Totally cheestacular. And very upsetting. Hopefully the new installment coming soon redeems both movies.

    Resident Evil Lover and Defender

First off resident evil is an imported game that no one even knew of, then some guy came along and was like, hey i want to make a movie of this. For the first one, it was pretty well made for a movie with a low budchet that was shot in underground dunnels in Germany. The second one got all the money from the first one so it was more high-tech. The second one had to explain and build up so they could make a third one. And for people who say it's bad just don't understand the plot and are not thankful to the people who made the video games come to life. This is a great movie, along with the first one. You just need to play all the games and WIN them unlike some people to love these movies, but you can just watch the movies and still like them. Oh, and Nemisis ROCKS! Especially the 6'6" 260ish pound guy who plays him. I LOVE YOU!

It's the end of horror games.

The movie is a little more adapted to the game, good. But the movie's excitement drops instantly, there is something that I liked about the movie than the game and somethings that I like the game than the movie. Do whatever you want, it's your fault.

BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL BY FAR

I was very impressed with this movie, unlike the first film. This film is action packed and filled with amazing special effects. Certainly a must see!

The Worst Non-Religion-Based Film I Ever Saw!!!

Utterly bad! this film not only lacks any character in the plot, but Ididn't give a damn about the characters! The heroes are super-powerful and dull and unstoppable, most of the characters are so cheesily expendable, and of course the villian, how could I forget... I COULD FIND NO VISSIBILE REASON TO NOT LIKE HIM!!! The only redeamable feature in this film is the excuse for the production and research on the T-Virus. And I thought that because the director had been changed the film might be good. DIE PAUL W.S. ANDERSON!!!

    Much better than the first.....

Milla Jovovich kicks butt in this sequel. The first movie was a good set up for this one. Don't miss it.

    Very good

I thought this movie was way better than the first. it had more action, horror, and suspense. In this movie, they stay a bit more true to the game. They did a good job by making slow walking zombies scary again. This movie is worth a watch.
