Tired of the blood, guts and gore? Want some gentle inigmas that do not take themselves too seriously? Try this treasure of gardening-based mysteries and view some of the finest gardens in England for free!

This clever, well written, well-acted series portrays two very real single women who own a thriving gardening business. As they travel about the British countryside as consultants and garden renovators, they somehow seem to stumble upon equally challenging murder mysteries. While they are definitely expert gardeners, they are not-so-expert sleuths, and watching them somehow unravel the murder mystery as they plot a new garden is often the source of comic relief from the serious subject of homicide.

What's equally amazing though, is the depth of the writing. Each episode begins with the slow motion unravelling of a bouquet of flowers, much like each story entails the unravelling of a mystery and the bringing of order into a previously-chaotic garden. The symmetry is very satisfying.

Throw in the witty, gentle humor, beautiful scenery, interesting gardening problems, realistic dialog, and lack of gratuitous violence and you have the perfect relaxation for anytime viewing. This is a purchase you will never regret, treasure for a long time, and want to recommend and pass on to your loved ones.

SO buyer beware-- might want to purchase from another vendor that will replace defective merchandise in a reasonable timeframe.

    I Also Recommend:

This series will delight ANYONE who loves beautiful gardens and a good mystery.

This series promptly became my new "very favorite" after only a couple of episodes. I enjoyed the fact that the mysteries were NOT easy to solve, and the filming locations were stunning. Felicity and Pam play well off each other, both very comfortable in their respective roles. The humor is subtle, but witty, and there is good continuity in the main character development from one episode to the next. I was sorry to come to the end, but will watch these shows over and over.

If you love beautiful settings, interesting characters, great plots...this is for you

This series is lovely. It not only has entertaining plots and characters but is also a grand tour of the UK's most gorgeous settings. After watching the entire series again and again, I only wish that there were more episodes!

    Love it!

Loved the show on PBS - glad to have the entire series that I can watch at my leisure. I purchased the first set for myself - then enjoyed it so much that I purchsed another set to give as a gift.

Review of Rosemary & Thyme Videos

I am a total Rosemary & Thyme groupie. I love this series! The shows are both entertaining and thought provoking, as mysteries should be, and the scenery and the gardens shown are beautiful. Makes me want to take a trip over the "Big Pond" to visit the sites.

    Lovely Series

The gardens are wonderful and the series rates high, especially if you are a gardener and fond of mysteries too. The acting, as on most british series, is superb. The main characters as well as guest stars shine. Highly recommend.

Love mysteries? Love gardens? This is for you!

This fabulous BBC TV series is like a great chocolate bar-fun and tasty. The mysteries are engaging and the huge variety of gardens visually delightful. You'll come to know and love the quirky gardeners and their cut to the chase style and your only regret will be the fact that the series ended.

    Great Series

This is another delightful series from BBC. It is about two women horticulturist who stumble upon murders while doing their gardens. The gardens shown in this series are beautiful, I only wish there had been more seasons of the show. If you enjoyed Murder She Wrote or Miss Marple this is a must see.

Fun Mysteries with Scenes of Great Gardens

Rosemary & Thyme become friends & co-workers in the first episode. Even though they are gardeners by trade they manage to get involved in at least one murder per episode. The gardens are gorgeous. The stories are entertaining without too much onscreen violence.

    Combines my two loves

If you enjoy mysteries, with a hint of comedy, and gardening then look no further! I first saw an episode on PBS and was instantly hooked. I highly recommend.
