Mix of the old and the new
This is a retelling of the Public Enemies Graphic Novel and has the look of the new artists. However for voice casting, they returned to the old staples that were established from the Warner Brothers TV series (Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, Clancy Brown) These three voice actors have established themselves as the standards people expect to hear from the characters, yet seeing the newly drawn characters can through you off.Was this review helpful? The plot is one that progress naturally from many tales in the DC Universe (comics and TV shows) and really brings to light what is the relationship between Superman and Batman who have two radically different views on how to best serve justice. Through in the wry humor of Lex Luthor and the entire thing begins to blend.
While not my favorite of the recent DC Universe films, it does have as good story, and several Justice League episodes as well as a dinner conversation with Conroy, voice casting director Andrea Romano, Bruce Timm, and one other DC VP that is insightful to Conroy's 20 year career as the voice of Batman.
