the most boring time of your life

I am rating this movie low because there was so much hype for it but it just flat out did not live up to it. It was the most boring movie I have ever seen. If you have been having trouble sleeping lately, I would recommend you throw your seeping pills away and rent the day after tomorrow. Otherwise do not waste your money on this movie. The only reason i did not rate this movie at one star was because of the special affects but otherwise there is no plot what so ever. This movie wasted 2 hours of my life that I cannot get back.

    Silly and one sided.

This movie is a poster for groups such as Green Peace and Earth First. The views and scientific theories expressed in TDAT are so one sided (it screams LEFT) and far fetched that it doesn't even make for good entertainment. I found myself laughing most of the time at the absurdity of it all. I personally found little to like about this film... with the exception of the New York tidal wave scene... for that I "raise" my star tally to a whopping total of 2.

    Extra star for effects.

The plot of this film was extremely hokey and clumsy. Dennis Quaid appeared ready to hike 1000 miles through the snow, not to save his son, but to get as far away from this disaster of a movie as possible. The story was silly, perhaps intended to scare people into treating the environment and third world countries better. But, unfortunately, it merely comes off as garbled and preachy. It will probably end up setting back the movements it tries to champion. Gyllenhaal and Quiad are good actors, but this movie lets them down. I give it an extra star only because the special effects were really good.
