    Painful

This movie was well acted but I hated how painful it was. If I wanted to relive how my family acts I would just go see them.

    What is it?

The Family Stone is a comedy-drama, but also stretches the realm of the genre. Luke Wilson is in the pilot seat of the funny, firmly entrenched. But you might just cringe at the behavior of Diane Keaton's character. While eventually we see her as a sympathetic character, her attitude and demeanor is grating. Also, quite disturbing was the scene that they tried to make Sarah Jessica Parker's character a gay basher. Words were twisted and I don't like the soap box we were treated to. And just the fact (spoiler) that Dermot's character ends up trading sisters is mighty seamy. But see it just for the scene of Luke and Sarah in the bar. That alone is worth it all.
