    meh..

The 2nd movie sits right inbetween the other two movies. As the plot goes, the best out of the 3. The whole concept given at the end of the movie (I won't spoil it for the 2 people who haven't seen it) was a great twist, but it made me mad that they didn't continue it through Revolutins. What made this movie not so good was the horrible special effects and bad acting. See it if you like the Matrix but don't expect anything special.

    Swing and a miss...

The brothers swing for the fences and end up dribbling one by the shortstop. This one didn't come close to the first, and could have been edited to about 55 minutes.

    All Effects, No Story

The Matrix: Reloaded was a rather dissapointing sequel to a great movie. Although the action and special effects shots are absolutely amazing, the movie itself is lacking in plot in a HUGE way. the film basically consists of 3 ginormous fight scenes strung together by...well...something. There are no memorable new characters, and the plot is basically nonexistent until the last 20 minutes. The last 20 minutes are not even very good. They throw a bunch of pseudophilosophy at you, which, when you really think about it, means nothing. Some viewers who are impressed bu big words might buy into this scene, but not the more intellegent ones. The reason I give the movie 3 stars rather then 1 or 2 is because of the INCREDIBLE effects in the movie. As bad as the plot sucks, the movie is still worth seeing for the freeway chase scene.

    the 'meh' review

i'll give it 5 stars for animation and for the action sequences. but the rest doesn't deserve half as much because as the first one you are drawn into a world with a new concept and such. this movie is just a long version of basically nothing. i mean, if you are all for the eye candy, you'll love the fighting. otherwise, for a story it has no comparison because what it once was taken from -ghost in the shell- it has completely left behind. the fact that they distributed parts of the whole into the animatrix, enter the matrix game, and a part 3, shows that they dont know much about summing up a greater story to get the most important facts into one and then leaving the unimportant out. oh well, im still going to see the matrix revolutions to get understand the ending a little better, but lets hope the portrayal will be much improved.
