    The New Year Parade

I am a member of the South Philadelphia Stringband, which appeared in the movie. Aside from all the cool extras of the band and the history of the Philadelphia Mummers Parade, this movie is a heartwarming, emotional packed film which not only shows the emotional ups and downs of divorce, but, it drive home the importance of love for family, devotion for cause, and friendships. This is not a big screen, action packed thriller, that we are all used to. It's a simple movie full of love, emotion, and values, which is what the world lacks these days. Writer/Director Tom Quinn is a talented, true gentelman who put his heart and soul into this movie, and the cast, many of which are new to the screen, were made for this movie. A real treat.

    Excellent film!

I saw this independent film in the theater and enjoyed it very much. Although it is set against the backdrop of the Philadelphia Mummer's Parade, it is not a film about the Mummers. Instead, it is a character-driven tale about life and how complicated it can become. Writer/Director Tom Quinn manages to offer hope without ruining the film with a trite ending.
