This was excellent entertainment, unless you look deeply into the moral of the story and you detach from the suffering that death brings. The critics say that the characters are not believable and neither is the movie. OK, I agree with them, but the movie is so good that you do not notice it. The movie was very good because the actors were well cast and did a good job. I waited for over half of the movie length to see Claudia Cardinale. The wait was worth it. She played her role well and was very charming. I also liked the character 'Chiquita', played by Marie Gomez. The Villain, Captain Raza, played by Jack Palanza, was very good as the macho bandit. Watching this movie made in 1966, today in the year 2003, gave me a sense of sadness because the actors Burt Lancaster and Lee Marvin, are no longer alive. When they played that movie, they were about my age. Their passing away reminded me that my time is coming too.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
