Without Question, the best TV series ever created!!!

My entire family loved this series. When it was on the air, we would do what ever it took to ensure we were home and waiting for the openning scene. My wife teases me now saying that whenever I am hurrying some place it is my "West Wing" speed! The selection of topics covered in this series is timeless and will be relevant 50 years from now. The series could be used as an educational tool on American Government. The acting is superb. The writing is flawless. I received the box set as a gift and it may be one of the very best I have ever recieved. This is a desert island series -- which means if you could only have one series on a desert island...this is the one.

    Feel Good television

Seasons 2 and 4 are the best, with the characters fully developed and the storylines at their most creative. Rob Lowe fans will like seasons 1 and 4, including the pilot with Lisa Edelstein and Sam Seaborn's run for Congress from California. Janel Maloney fans will like seasons 2 and 4, plus Mrs. Bartlett's birthday party in season 3. Bradley Whitford gets his best stories in Season 5, both as the President's political council and as Donna's friend, although some of the most charming Donna and Josh scenes are in seasons 2 and 3; a flashback to when they first meet with Donna fresh from Wisconsin and sitting together on a park bench in the cold at night after Josh has come to her defense. Allison Janney is featured in season 3 when she receives secret service protection.

    Great political series

This is a great series. It does drop off a little in the middle seasons but the last few seasons are amazing. It's worth the purchase if you like politics. It is not dumbed down for the average viewing audience so some things may be a little difficult to understand. The show tackles many issues such as the death penalty (great episode), abortion, terrorism (domestic), and everything in between. It is both serious and hilarious at the same time. And it is a relevant series. The 2008 election has many similarities in this show and one the characters, Bradley Whitford's character is said to be molded after Rahm Emmanuel (Obama's new Chief of Staff).

I highly recommend this for anyone who like political dramas and comedy. It is an entertaining show and you learn a great deal while watching it.

The best television drama in history

For seven season NBC's The West Wing, showed us what it would be like to have a president who inspires and makes us feel as though he does care. The West Wing revealed a side of political life that we all dream about. This is one of the greatest television dramas of all time, and arguably, the greatest cast ever assembled. This is a must have for any american.
