A simply, but powerfully presentation of the interaction between the natural and the supernatural - they are more closely intertwined that we know.

    A must see movie!

This movie is one of my favorites. If you have ever thought that your prayers are not being answered no matter what your age is, watch this movie. We all need to be reminded that God is always with us and gives us signs in answering our prayers in His time. A funny, inspiring, feel good movie! You can't help but love Joshua.

    Pretty good

I just saw this movie on Starz and I was mildly impressed. I am a hardcore M. Night Shyamalan fan. I have seen all of his recent movies (Sixth Sense,Unbreakable, and Signs) and I think he is the most exciting new filmmaker out there. So now I wanted to go back before his breakout success with the sixth sense and see what his early movies where like. There is this movie and another, 'Praying with Anger'(which I haven't seen yet). I think this movie is pretty good. It was well written by Night and the directing was also good in a non- showy sort of way that fit the material quite well. The acting was solid all the way around the horn. Little Joseph Cross's performance was strong enough to make the movie work. All together it was a well made movie, but it didn't really dazzle me like Night's previous work. Still a good one, though.

Great movie for kids on a quest to find God

This movie has an incredible message and was really enjoyed by me and my 9 and 11 year old children. Many children at this age begin their own personal quest to find God in their life. This move chronicles the year of one boy on such a search throughout his fifth grade year. The movie is at times funny (how could it not be- Rosie O'Donnell is in it!) and thought-provoking and very moving. The relationship between Joshua and his grandfather was particalarly endearing. Your kids will be entertained and will be prompted to discover their own feelings about God and how he interceeds in their lives. I can't say enough good things about this movie and was only saddened by the fact that more parents were not able to see it with their kids as it had a really short run in the theatres. Perhaps with the huge (and deserved) praise for M. Night Shamylan, this movie could be re-released and given time for positive word of mouth to spread. I
