    Definitely not for Nook (update)

I sent an email to B&N Customer Service, explaining the problems I was having with the Nook version of this book. (Those problems are detailed in my first review.) I stated that this book should NEVER have been offered in the Nook format, because it is impossible to read & totally useless. Then I requested that they remove the book from my Nook library and refund the purchase price to the gift card on my account.

Several days later, I received what I am sure is a generic response. The "customer service" rep gave me an itemized list of instructions on how to archive a book in a nook library. They totally ignored my message and didn't respond to ANYTHING I wrote in my email.

    Definitely not for Nook

What a waste of money! The print is too small to read on my Nook & it does not respond to resetting the size. I tried reading it on my netbook, but it only shows the top half of each page. You can't scroll down to see the bottom half. So I tried reading it on my larger computer. I could see the whole page, but again the print was so small that I could not read the fractions for the listings under 'avocado.' I couldn't see if the serving size was 1/2, 1/4, or 1/10 of the avocado -- SO THIS NOOK EDITION IS UTTERLY USELESS!!! There is also no way to use the search function to find a food item in the chart. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS.

If you eat out a lot of use a lot of prepackaged processed foods...

I was a bit disappointed in this book, compared to other Dana Carpender low carbing books. I was looking for something to help me track carbs in the food I prepare at home. The things I dislike about this book - the print is extremely small, so be prepared to get out those readers or a magnifying glass. I found it difficult to quickly find items I was looking for. It covers a lot of perpackaged foods and national restaurant chains (I don't eat out very often, and when I do, it's not usually at a chain style restaurant).

I passed this book on to my mother, who is a diabetic and does eat out a lot at these types of food establishments. She seems to be happy with it. If you are a person who uses a lot of convenience foods and/or eats out a lot, you will be happy with it. I will keep searching for a better whole foods specific carb counter.

    Excellent!

Nook book version is extremely useful. Easy to search through and more useful information. With a nook journal app there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to use this book to its fullest extent and be healthier!
