Terrific Carpathian tale

After the death of her brother by, she believes Carpathians, Natalya Shonski continues her quest of fighting vampires. At the same time the solitary female warrior continues her vigil, Carpathian Vikirnof Von Shrieder fears he on the verge of becoming a vampire as he failed to find his soulmate who would anchor him. Vikirnof thinks that Natalya is his woman and begins his search for her. He finds her as she duels two vampires he helps her. --- Natalya rejects Vikirnof as she distrusts Carpathians. However, in spite of her rage, she knows she cannot allow Vikirnof to die from wounds he received while fighting at her side. As she comes to know him better while he heals, she realizes he is her soulmate. They learn that a devious powerful mage plots to destroy all the Carpathians unless they can stop him, but neither knows who he is though Natalya assumes her evil grandfather is the culprit. --- DARK DEMON is must reading for long time fans of the Carpathian novels, not just because it is a terrific action-packed romantic thriller, but also because many subplots dangling from previous books tie together. The lead duet are fantastic star-crossed soulmates, but they have so much trouble ahead that it makes their path to eternal happiness look bleak. Natalya and Vikirnof make this a superb entry that can stand alone as a fabulous paranormal romantic suspense, but to savor the full taste newcomers would be better suited finding much of the backlist. --- Harriet Klausner

The Dark Series has been one of my favorite series in the past. Dark Secret, the previous book in this line, was rather disappointing also, but I know that in series' books, some are better than others. In Dark Demon, I expected the normal angst of a 'lifemate couple' as they found their way to each other, along with romance, and, of course, danger! The fighting with the bad guys took up so much space in this book. Then, it almost seemed like, 'oh, we need to throw some romance in here, it IS a romance.' And then, right back to the fighting. I didn't come to a point where I even really liked the characters, or even really cared what happened to them. This was too bad, because I have really enjoyed this storyline(I have them all!)and have always waited impatiently for the next book! I hope for better romance, in the Dark series, in the future!

You gotta check this whole series out!!!

This book holds such twist and turns to it. Its so very lovely and it makes you want to get to know each character more and even deeper. There is not a book where Christine Feehan does not really bring those characters out and even adds more to the story line. A very good read. I have read almost all of her Dark series they are to die for.

    Very Disappointing

I was very disappointed in this book. Usually it takes me 6 hrs to read a Christine Feehan book, but I haven't even finished this book (and I don't think I will). Dark Demon and Dark Descent has left me confused, annoyed and very disappointed with the Dark Hunter line. Hopefully Dark Passion will not include too much of the technical side of fighting. I think it is unneccessary and this is not a karate or action pack series, but ROMANCE.

Swing and miss. . . ANYBODY?

Like every other commentor on this page I thoroughly enjoyed Mrs. Feehan's other books, but this one. . . hmmm I actually(ACTUALLY) didn't even bother to finish. What happened? Thats what I was saying. The action was good, the characters were hot but the developement of their relationship fizzled to a small pop, not the bang I was used to and ultimately I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. Maybe I'll go back and read it later. I still have faith in Mrs. Feehan. I've read Dangerous tides and the chemistry there was sizzling.

    It was ok!!!!!

I have read everything that Christine feehan has ever written, I liked this one the least. There was too much running and confusion and not enough romance. But, like I said... It was ok.

    No punch

This new adventure does not live up to Feehan's past books. Lots of battle scenes, but the romance punch is just not there. Natayla's character feels forced into a character she isn't. I have loved this whole series, but this one left me disappointed.
