Dark Goddess Days Indeed
Mark Ellis's latest novel may be chock full of action/adventure - and is a solid, albeit formulaic - storyline, is still fraught with character stagnation with its two main characters- Kane and Brigid. After 40-some-odd books, you'd think they would have grown in their relationship that the author only eludes to, but never delves deeper than a working relationship. Stale after all these years and number of novels. Although there are too many close calls and the typical last-minute escapes from something exploding at the end, Ellis still manages to make it a fun and exciting read. Even though you kinda feel you've been there numerous times. Hopefully with some small changes with storyline approaches and deeper characerization within the supposed love affair between the seemingly sibling-like, friendship-only relationship between the main characters, more readers will hop aboard. Was this review helpful?
