This book was one of the two books I chose to read for the summer. At the beginning, I was very confused and didn't understand anything. But after a while, everything began to make sense. It's a great book if you're into magic, mysteries, and adventures. I am thinking about reading the second book and the rest of the series, since the ending left me hanging. This is a good book, give it a shot! =D

    An okay book

right... This book was o.k, but it's not one I would reccommend. I'm sort of over the whole talking animals thing, 'cause it kinda freaks me out. Overall, this book was a pretty good read and well written. Maybe the next book's better.

    Okay, but not great

Hmmm... I think that there are some pretty cool parts in the book(I can't reveal them), but the first 70 or so pages are pretty dull. It's a better book for fourth and fifth graders than maybe 6th or 7th graders. Also, I don't like this island floating in the clouds (Elyon)... doesn't it sound like Fincayra in TA Barron's Merlin books? Hmmm... in retrospect, I'll give this book 3.12 stars for at least some original thoughts... oh well, it was an ok read. Another piece of advice: Don't buy this book, check it out from the library.
