Fenris Dalka and Tatijana Dragonseeker are the main characters and I was surprised at how early she found her lifemate when she and Branslavia just recently got out of Xavier's ice caves. Anyways, so this book focuses on the two and how different Fenris is. Of course, here comes another species into the mix of Carpathians and the Carpathian people must figure out how to deal with this new "lycan" species, if they are a threat or not. The love story between these two aren't as powerful as she has made previous love stories, or let me say love "scenes", but they are madly in love nonetheless as all lifemates are. There is a twist in the book as Fenris is the brother of one of the Carpathian hunters that we have known and loved for a while now.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much action was in this book. There was action on every turn of the page and I didn't want to put it down, which allowed me to finish this book in one day. Loved every scene, loved how there are more questions now for the future of the Carpathian species. If you are a fan of Christine's Dark series, this book will definitely not disappoint.

I use to love anything Ms Feehan's wrote...not any more.  The series started going downhill in earlier installments and this is no exception.  This book is awful. I started skipping pages hoping it would get better.  She kept repeating their background like she was trying to make her 300 page quota.  I was even gritting my teeth thru the love scene's.  Was looking forward to Skyler's story but don't think I can force myself to buy it.  Maybe Ms Feehan can reread the Dark Prince and get back to her old style so I can put her back on my "must read" list.

    Redundant

I have faithfully read every book written by Christine Feehan. That is not exactly a good thing because as each book is written, you notice a pattern and the authors writing style gets boring. There is too much descripted scenes that are not relevant to the story and the love scenes... pages and pages of dragged out crap. I found myself skimming through pages looking for the story to start back up. It is unfortunate because Christines characters and stories are very good. It's her penchant for filler that detracks from total enjoyment. This book is a little better than her last. At least I was able to finish this one.

Highly Recommended for those who have read the serie

A New Turn to an Old Series

Was a Good Story but super fast paced Story Development , I like the sound of the next book in the Series..
The Author is Changing the Characters a Little bit so the Story is not the same old same old... I would have liked a slower paced story but it was still a good read..

    Dark Lycan

I like most of Ms. Feehan's books but must we have 40 pages in the appendix of chant exlanations, charts and glossary of a dead language. I don't and won't stop and look up her basically made up language. Just a pet peeve that keeps from rating the book higher.

    totally new direction

Ms Feehan has taken her Dark series in a totally new direction. This is the first book in her new trilogy and we see a glimpse of the bonds forming between Skylar and Dimitri who FINALLY get their own book in January. We see some familiar friends and former romantic partners. frankly I am not sure I like this new direction but I am waiting to see how it plays out.

    Its ok

Book 15 dark secret was the book that got me hooked and i read all the prior ones within 2 months. I can honestly say after book 15 she slowly started going down hill. Very graphic unemotional love scenes, lousy connection between the main characters, boring rhetoric, and needless internal dialogue. But i continued in purchasing the books cause the 15 books prior were excellent. This one is ok not as boring or perfunctorily as the other ones but she NEEDS to reread her other books to get that fire back. Pls pls I'll try again with Dark Wolf but i haved stopped holding my breath

Hisses and her green eyes flash protectively. You could see her belly sort of swollen.

    Good Read

I enjoyed Dark Lycan but I think the some of her earlier books in this series was better written. Additionally she uses a lot of filler pages for such an expensive book. The actual number of pages are less than 300 but the way it is numbered a reader expects a 350 page read. I was pleased that she included characters from other books and included Bronnie. She did leave a cliff hanger for her next book, but it did not reel me in like her other books.
