    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

The latest Darkhunter is a little disappointing.

Not nearly as funny and engaging as the earlier Darkhunter novels, Dark Side of the Moon suffers from the reappearance if Nick Gautier, the newest Darkhunter. That sentence seems ridiculous, because Nick has always been one of my favorite characters. But in his death he's become moody and difficult, and his personal plot overshadows the main plot of the novel. I'm beginning to feel that Ms. Kenyon started this series without an overarching plot and is now throwing one together at the expense of romance and humor.

I do however, recommend Ms. Kenyon's Fever series which is scary, funny, sexy and full of plot twists and turns that you never see coming because the author intended for them to be there, not because they suddenly came out of nowhere.

    Eh...

I have been reading SK's books for years and years, and I totally loved the first few books in the Dark-Hunter series, but the last couple, including this one, just haven't been all that great. I found the romance in this one took a back seat to all the details that she clearly wanted to get into the book. Ravyn's character lacked development, and Susan was kinda boring. I have so much time invested in the series at this point that I will continue to read them, but I'll be waiting until I find them at the used book stores -- and when the series finally ends I think I'll be out. Just holding on for Ash's story now....

Good, but not on par with previous DH books

Good, but not great. With previous DH stories, they gave the impression of the author having spent a lot of time on the story and the connection between hero/heroine was well established. This story was the opposite IMO. Swung between rushing and dragging and the two main characters veering off from the personalities/traits that were established in the beginning. Not an 'engrossing' story, hero/heroine not consistant, heroine not particularly likeable/believable, and the story does not seem to really belong with the other DH books.
