    BEST BOOK ON JERRY-HANDS DOWN!!!

There have been several books on Garcia that tell pretty much tell most of the story. None of them really go for the throat like this one, which, unlike one author or editor slanting the truth or fiction in their own way- these are all quotes from most of the people who were closest to Jerry. Just a GREAT BOOK. Only person NOT in the book or quoted is Phil Lesh, who seems to prefer to be either in the middle or out of the picture completely. This is sad on a musical level as Phil more than anyone propelled the group, especially on stage. If you saw the Mountain Girl/Koons battle in the court, that pretty much tells that part of the story, even though Phil wrote a great book on the band himself. There's a similar book on Duke Ellington that does the same thing- tells the stuff from friends and associates- also a GREAT BOOK.

    Dark Star

Dark Star was not only informational, but an exceptional read as well. Jerry Garcia had an interesting life that makes you want to have been there. The life of Jerry Garcia would make a dank book, by any author.
