Classic Peter Paul and Mary

Perfect to introduce young readers to the glory of Peter Paul and Mary. Their music and wonder lives on.

disappointed

I received this as a gift for my son who is 2.5 yrs old. Lovely illustrations, but it starts out, "Tell me why you're crying my son. I know you're frightened by everyone." Now, for someone with a sensitive child who is very aware of feelings, etc, this is not a good beg...

Now, for someone with a sensitive child who is very aware of feelings, etc, this is not a good beginning. Regardless of the history of this song in the 60's etc, I really don't want bedtime reminding us of the world filled with "sorrow and woe."

    I Also Recommend:

    Day is done

Book was illustrated so nicely and the CD in the back was fun to listen to while looking at the pictures.

Very nice to share with a young loved one

I share this book and the music CD with my young nephew. He is only 6, so it is somewhat lost on him, but he likes singing along with me and reading the words.

    day is done

bought the book for my granddaughter and every time she comes over, she wants me to read her the story. It is a good read for young children.

    More appropriate for father/son

I ordered two copies, one for each granddaughter - a newborn and 2 year old. I returned the books because they are more geared - in my opinion - for a father/son relationship. However, in flipping through the book, I was very impressed with the "peaceful" color use, drawings and the story. I would not hesitate to recommend this for a beautiful father/son gift, and if my expected grandchild is a boy, I will re-order it!

A great book, exactly the type that Peter Yarrow would write.

This is very typical of Peter Yarrow and I feel that the book expresses the man and his thinking. He, of Peter, Paul and Mary has always had something vital to say whether it was through song or word. Hurray for Peter!

    Life IS

These words are reassuring to a child who is living in and not being protected from the realities of life. Knowing that a parent, grandparent, or adult will do everything they can to walk through life with a child in its darkest moments and not only in the joys is the most valuable love we can give another. Children are aware of things, and adults fear the questions of life that they can not answer completely. This book and song admits that no one has all of the answers in life, but we can and will do this together.
