Very good book.
It's a book I highly reccomend to you, full of fantasy gadgets and portals to other worlds. I'm hoping Matthew Cody turns th into a series.
My only regret was that it was so short. It was only 280 pages, and as a Brandon Mull fanatic I'm used to around 400 pages.
Jezebel was sort of stupid, but Tommy and The Dead Gentleman made it likable.
As I read it, I kept thinking if scientists had ever tried to make a ship like Charnel Housw (minus the portal engine), and the possibilities of that.
Overall, I learned an important lesson reading The Dead Gentleman: Beware immortal monks bearing gifts.
