The story is interesting, especially learning more about Alaska.
The story is interesting, especially learning more about Alaska. Johnson's downfall in this book is lackluster proofreading & editing. I'm surprised it got published without more scrutiny by the publisher. Lots of books, especially ebooks, have typos. This one has typos, words missing, verb agreement problems, but most critical is lack of believability when sad times come--the emotion just isn't there. And then there's the continuity problems; ie, one moment the critically injured are laid up in the wild, but the next paragraph they are out helping cart stuff to the camp, then they're laid up again. But thank you B&N for the free book. It was good enough to finish.
