I keep buying it-Friends keep taking it
It makes sophisticated painting easier than the Home Depot Decorative Painting 1-2-3 book. For example-marbeling-Sunset has simple directions-using brushes and a spritz bottle-Home Depot ends up with you covering the walls with plastic wrap-Sunset-easy to do-easy to clean up- Home Depot-I'd probably end up wrapped in the plastic wrap and wet paint slinging all over. Sunset gives good-practical directions- a multitude of color combinations for different painting styles. These color guides run from 2 beautiful color washings-sponge on or off, to 4 colors for exquisite effects. The use of color-tints-hues-contrasts-complimentary is well done. I just did a 3 color glazing from a Behr pamphlet-the wall came out the opposite color of the pamphlet. I went to a store with the flu and saw the pamphlet-I immediately spent $200 for the primer, paints and glazes. The walls are beautiful-just the opposite color. I just assumed that the last glaze would correct the color-LOL-Sunset shows the colors and you find a comparable tint in whatever brand you buy. It uses simple easy to find tools-like old T-shirts, sea sponges, whisk brooms, soft or medium paint brushes, etc. You have suede, different types of glazing, venetian plaster, lime painting crackling and good pics of results. People keep asking to look at the book-and someone takes it from them. I now hide the book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. For a recommendation-GO TO AN ART SUPPLY AND BUY A COLOR WHEEL AND NEVER DECIDE TO PAINT WHEN YOU'RE SICK.
