Worth the Wait

I'm in love with Gabriel and await each new book and am so thrilled that they are all so good. It's impossible to put this one down. I read it in one day and now want to kick myself because whatever I pick up can't be as good as this. He's worth the wait!

Silva is getting lazy.

Too wordy, too much like his other books, no plot excitement.

    Rehash

His writing is becoming far too repetitive. A third of this book was a complete rehash of the previous book.

This was a good book, but it was all too predictable.

I would like to see a plot that develops the characters further and makes use of the technological devices that are available.
Further, it is unrealistic that characters can suffer such brutal beatings and be rescued or escape and then resume an almost normal physical life.

    The Defector

In the Defector, Israeli Agent Gabrial Allon travels from Italy to England to America to Switzerland to Russia on his mission to rescue his wife Kira and also friend Gregory Bolgonov from an evil Russian billionaire / illegal arms dealer Ivan Karkcov Alot of the book is dialogue set in sit down situations; a kitchen, a coffee house, a cafe, a livingroom, a park bench, then back to the cafe.It was a fun story and I loved most the characters. They were deep and I cared about them.I applaud Daniel Silva for writing strong female characters. I give it 3 stars.
