WHAT DID I THINK 3.5 out of 5 Stars; Grace is on an assignment to find a girl who has been kidnapped. On her way to find the child, she hits something with her car. She is rescued by Aiden.
Did I feel connected to the characters: I really liked Grace and connected with her immediately. She has a gift where she can sense (psychic ability) where a lost child can be found. She has been always thought of as strange because of her gift so she has tried to hide it since she could remember, but she finds this town where her gift is not so strange.

Grace admits her weakness when it comes to people. It made me sad. She appeared so strong, but yet she felt so weak inside.

“Give her a little bit of kindness and she is lost. She would hand herself over to a person, imagine all sorts of crazy things. Like she was in love, or that she was loved.”

I love that honesty in a character. That is why I did not want anyone to take advantage of her. When Aiden came into her life, I struggled at first. I did not want Aiden to take advantage of Grace’s kind heart.

    Pace of the story: Okay.
Positives: The author developed great characters.
Negative: Some of the dialogue dragged for me. At times, I felt like there was a disconnection with Aiden and Grace. The story was there, but some scenes could have been illuminated. However when the story got to 75%, I could not stop reading.
Do I recommend? Yes this was a great paranormal story about a small town that carried its own secrets. I can see the potential in the series.
Bottom line: I hope there is more of Vanir in the next book.

Book Format Read: A copy was provided in exchange for an honest review. Thank you
