Wow. What a waste. First the ridiculous concubine staging. Then the hero is a eunuch. Oh but wait his twin brother who is the ruler of their kingdom, is to marry his true love. Doesn't stop there. His twin is a cripple and decides they both will be married to her, because between the two, they make a whole man. If that's not crazy enough, the hero is captured by (let me get this right) vampiristic werewolves that are controlled by a hideous parasite. Thanks to the healing parasite (yeah gimme some of that) the hero is a eunuch no more, his brother can walk, his twin gets his own sick twisted true love, who is already knocked up with the hero's baby whom she raped. The heroine unnecessarily volunteers for the ridiculous parasite insertion. Of course they lived happily ever after. Really???

    Just okay

I was intrigued by the story and like the star-crossed lovers part of the story. But the second half got a little dark for me. I like vampire stories, but these vampires were not romantic enough and too evil.
And I felt the main characters compromised their values and what their tribe stood for, all for the sake of being perfect.
That aside, it was an interesting read and if you find it free, I say go for it.
