so awesome ^.^
so i found this once and it took me years to find it again. it's starts off kinda bad but it gets so much better as the story progresses and Emmy matures. it gives an amazing in sight into teen pregnancy and the author doesn't take it easy on Emmy either. i just wish it could have shown Emmy once the baby got a little older. bottom line it's an amazing read and you need to check it out like pronto!

Great Girl, Sucky Guy!
I loved this story and I would of loved it a lot more if the guy didn't turn out to be a complete douche.

TEENS MUST READ!!! (:
oh my god!! this book is amazing! I'm a teen mom myself my son is 3 months old and he is totally and completely my world! my son has the BEST life that ANYONE could ever give him! he is surrounded by love and laughter. Though like this book i too struggle with most of the problems that Emmy struggles with. if you were never faced with the life changing miracle of being a teen mom or if you have a daughter that is a teenager and is also expecting then this is the book for you. this book pretty much sums up the total emotional roller-coaster that teen mothers face. and it proves that teen mothers CAN raise a child just as good as ANYONE even if they are single. Detour for Emmy kept me hooked throughout the entire book. i was literally walking through the halls of my teen parent high school with my nose in this book! and so were ALL the other girls (teen mothers). it may be fiction but its pretty much right out of a teen mothers mind! ((:

Old Before I'm Young
Young Emmy's life was going great at the start of freshmen year at Alexander High School, but who says love is always a good thing? Emmy thought she found this perfect guy in Art, but she comes to She finds out she is pregnant by the guy who took her virginity. Having a child at an early age isn't a good situation, especially when you can become a single mother!!!!! I recommend this book to teens who are experiencing sex and don't realize the dramatic consequences of their actions.

DETOUR FOR EMMY
Detour For Emmy was an amazing book. A teen girl just looking for love ends up pregnant and alone. Emmy is on track to have a college scholarship. When she finds out she's pregnant, all her plans change. When she told her boyfriend, he denied it and left her. When she told her two best friends, one stayed by her side and the other ignored her. I would recommend this book to any teen girl because it shows them the impact an unplanned pregnancy could have on your life.

awesome book!!!
Detour for Emmy was one of the best books I've ever read! I had no idea of the pain that teen mothers go through, and this book really helped me to understand. I absolutely fell in love with the title character Emmy, who is innocent and easy to love. This book tells about the negative side of 'teen-love' while bringing about a positive message. I absolutely loved the story, and I wish there were more books written with such honesty and detail.

DETOUR FOR EMMY
This book was really good. I found it quite interesting. I felt that she was put through a lot and she always belived in her self. I think this book is a really good book to recommend for people. It taught me a lot about child birth and trust. I think the guy was a prik, and that the books Marilyn Reyonolds writes are just amazing. When I first picked up this book I could not put it down. I read a lot of her books and I love all of them.

Best book i've ever read
Detour for Emmy is one of the best books i've ever read . It's very down to earth,it's real. It tells the story of a girl who beleives she'll be with her first love forever and then there put into a situation were she starts to learn the hardships of life. She learns that she has to depend on herself for the goals she wants to acheive in her life and would have to work very hard to reach them. It's a story that could be anyones life. I beleive it could help young mothers today realize that they dont have to depend on a man for support that they can do it on there own if they just try hard enough. This is my first book but want be the last by Marilyn Reynolds.

Single Mother
A fifteen-year-old girl named Emmy had a mother who was an alcoholic and her brother named David is in trouble with the law. Her brother is kicked out of his house because he steals jewelry from his mother to bail out one of his friends from jail. He leaves his house and leaves Emmy all alone. In high school Emmy is a straight ¿A¿ student. She was MVP of the soccer team, which she was really good at. She would always be with her two best friends. They have always been together since the first grade. When new students arrived at there school they would tell them that they were sisters, but they never believed them because they had no similarities among their physical looks. While she was in the lead soprano in the choir, she met a gorgeous guy named Art who would change her life forever. He was the type of upperclassman boyfriend, who was also a great student. He was looking forward to his future. They were together for a long period of time, and were of their feelings towards each other. They finally decided they would prove their love for one another by having sexual relations. Then they began doing it on a regular basis, they always used protection- except one night. That night changed their lives forever, when Emmy found out that she was pregnant. Art finds out that Emmy is pregnant and denies he is the father. He leaves her by herself with the responsibility of having a baby. Everyone keeps on telling Emmy to have an abortion because she is too young to take on that much of responsibility on her own. Emmy decides she is going to keep the baby because she feels that it is the only person who will ever love her back. She faces her mother's anger, the fear and pain of pregnancy, but still she is able to keep her life on track. She keeps going to school and finds a job. Emmy¿s road is rocky enough to be a deterrent for girls who are not in her position, yet inspirational enough to provide hope for those who are.

Amazing!
Marylin Reynolds is amazing! This book is great the main character is 14 year old Emmy who gets pregnant with her older boyfriend, and also the first person she has sexual relations with. Then Emmy has to decide to make a choice not for her mother, grandmother, boyfriend or her friends, but for herself.

The book for all teens
Detour for Emmy is by far the best book for not only teens but also for parents. I have read this book eight times and everytime I read it, I find something new to intrigue about the book. In most books, they show the other side of the stroy; the abortion and depression. But in this book, the author shows a teen taking responsibility for her actions and eventually learning from her mistakes, and not letting anyone stand in her way of her future goals.

Detour to Emmy was the best book that I have ever read.
I loved how the book was a realty book. It showed what a teen mother would actually go through. Emmy had everything perfect then a baby happened. She was a very smart girl and she let this happen, but she doesn't regret her choice to have her baby. Emmy was very brave considering the situation. It defiantly deserved the five stars.
