Wonderful Sourcebook of Diana's fashions
I agree with the other reviews - this book was wonderful. Many beautiful photos with details of the design and construction of Diana's most fabulous dresses. The section on the auction dresses is worth the price of the book alone! A 'must-have' for those who are hooked on Diana's fashion sense and style. Was this review helpful? summary of diana's working wardrobe
The author's summary of the discussions between Diana and her designers and the relationship between her personal preferences and her professional image as Princess of Wales is very revealing. Far too often, Diana has been portrayed as a fashion slave who was used by the fashion industry to sell their products. Not so! She had very definite ideas about fabric, color and details as she had truly studied photographs of herself and had an increasing awareness over the years of dressing properly for the occasion. The author relates many personal details about Diana's favorite gowns and suits and how she changed her look with accessories. There are many pictures of the clothing from different angles. So many pictures in magazines and newspapers only showed them from the front view only. Also, for those interested in the charity auction at Christie's the author gives details of the bidding and what the dresses actually sold brought at bid. I have about 20 Diana books and there are many excellent photographs I have never seen before. If you can find this book on the open market, as I was lucky enough to do, buy it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
