As a Dictionary, This Tome Leaves a Lot to Be Desired
This book is required reading for a seminary course on Biblical Hermeneutics. In a previous life, I was a professional writer and editor; consequently I have little patience with Vanhoozer's text. Entries often lack a definition of the term itself (what else is a dictionary for?); the contributors display significant stylistic, formatting, and content inconsistency; and there is little discernable logic to the selection of topics.

Nevertheless, since it is required reading, I am plodding through. Was this review helpful?
