Being a Christan I found this to be an intriguing and thought provoking. Thought provoking because of the way the author treated Jesus and His disciples as real life people with emotions, quirks, and habits. The underlying theme used by a number of authors with the doubter setting out to disprove an established person or theory find themselves through a series of events convinced otherwise. Even though this theme has been used again and again the author's handling of this theme, the characters, and the outcome are refreshing and inspire the reader to keep turning the pages while being absorbed in a tale of human nature as old as time. Was this review helpful? Pass over this one
While this book started out with promise, the science fiction degraded into religious proselytizing. As another reader has stated, the editing was poor and the character development shallow. I selected this book based upon some of the other, higher ratings here but was disappointed upon completing it.

This is one of the worst books I've ever atttempted to read. The author takes an interesting concept - tiem travel to the time of Jesus - and kills it by boredom. The plot is simplistic and transparent, The characters are barely unidimensional and the writing (he describes a character who takes precautions as 'precautious') is juvenile. Did anyone edit this book? I am a science fiction fan and a knowledeable religious person, so this book should have been a home run for me. It wa one huge backwards 'K'. To add insult to injury, the very thin paperback costs $18. It was obviously written to take advantage of the DaVinci Code craze (a book I enjoyed) and I got sucked in by the great reviews on this website. Spend your money on a Ludlum or one of Dan Brown's other books. I'd offer to sell you my copy, but I couldn't stand the guilt. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
