    Excellent Basic Manual

This book is a requirement for a well recognized digital photography program so that should tell you volumes. The title say it all with Reference Manual. The book is illustrated very nicely and goes from first picking up a digital camera, through lenses, lighting, scanning and printing. I'd consider this a must have manual for the beginner photographer or anyone who has transitioned from film to digital. It certainly didn't hurt going back and reviewing the basics. The relationship between ISO, shutter speed and aperture is explored extensively as well as the effect each of these have on a photograph. Basic stuff to the advanced photographer, but vital information to someone just beginning.

This book is fantastic! - A must read for anyone serious about photography

As a semi-professional photographer, I would recommend this book to anyone serious about photography. It has something for every level, beginner, semi-professional, or professional. If you want a solid foundation from the basics and beyond, this is the book you want to read.
