Help for those reading the Bible

Wayne Cordiero's book has enabled me to read the Bible with greater enthusiasm, consistency and understanding than anything i have tried in my adult life. His SOAP system, which stands for, Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer encourages the reader to spend 20 minutes reading the Bible and 20 minutes writing about a single scripture from what was read that day.

In the first three months i have only missed a few days and i have written over 70 pages of material. I am writing my notes on a computer. Cordeiro is correct when he says writing about what you have read forces you to think about what you have read. I have been a Christian for many years, but this has helped me far more than any other Christian book I have ever read.

The only agenda Cordeiro has in this book is the desire to help Christians read the Bible on a consistent basis. In the book he said this is the best thing he has ever done at his church that influenced people attending his church to self feed. I can not speak for the members of his church as i have never been there, but it worked for me.

If you have a desire to read the Bible, but have struggled to read the Bible consistently pick up this book.

    Highly recommend

If you are interested in learning how to walk the journey that our Christian walk is, this book is a good start. I really liked the practical ways that he applies teaching us to read the word of God and to apply it to our lives. Transformation comes from the word, and from the healing of our hearts through the word. This book gives you a great foundation to build upon. We are all at a different part of the story God is telling, this book will help you find deeper meaning to your journey with Jesus. I liked his approach to disciplship that I purchased his yearly journal I highly recommend this book for all Christians who are desiring to walk our journey with more depth.

    Outstanding

I have read many books that have enhanced my spiritual life and given me tools to have a closer walk, but this was the best. The author had many fresh, new ideas presented with specific tools in a can-do fashion. I was inspired in a way I haven't been in a long time.
