    HOORAY FOR THIS LIBERATING BOOK!

I owned this book before having children. It reminded me of my childhood 'tomboy' days. There are not enough books about girls that like to just get dirty! In a society where all baby girls seem to be adorned with 'Princess' outfits (this drives me batty), it is nice to know that the author's little girl was comfortable enough to ask her the question 'Do Princesses wear hiking boots?' Three cheers to mommy for answering in the special way she did, thus sparking an awesome children's book about a little girl who likes to take off her dress every once in a while to feel the mud between her toes.

    Excellent message and illustrations

I've purchased this book for countless little girls, and they've all loved it (parents too). There's so much frilly princess out there, it's fun for them to read about princesses like them.

    Grandaughter loved it

My grandaughter is almost 5 and she absolutely loved this book. She had her "Papa" read it to her several times on the way to and from Nashville-a 12hr drive. She is a bit of a tomboy that loves to wear dresses and cowboy boots.

Wonderful Read For Girly Girls Too!

I purchased this book last year for my five-year-old daughter as a Christmas present. She absolutely loves it and asks me to re-read it to her all the time. Sometimes she reads it to me. My daughter is a dress up, make-up loving, girly girl who wants the same things all of the girls in her class have, so I am all the time trying to find ways to encourage her independence and individuality. It took me forever to convince her that she doesn't have to wear pink everyday of the week. This story reminds us that it's okay to play outside, to get dirty and hang from trees; because princesses do too! I like that it also mentions how princesses eat there veggies and do their chores. This book has inspired us not just to enjoy the tea parties, but also to enjoy getting sweaty and dirty playing outside with Daddy and brother.

    Great for all little girls

I was given this book as a baby gift by a friend. My daughter is still a little to young to appreciate it, but I love it! When she gets a little older, I know she will too.

Enlightenment for little girls of all ages

This is a must read for any little girl of any age enjoying life's journey of discovery. In a very subtle way, Carmela Coyle has captured the importance of being one's self and its connectedness to all possibilities in life. The illustrations are perfect and connect to the text in a humorous and uplifting fashion. This is delightful to read and anyone of any age would enjoy it thoroughly. I can hardly wait for her next books.
