    Great insight

This was written right after the Bucs won the Super Bowl. While its dated, it gives great insjght on the behind the scenes life as an NFL coach. And with Gruden, theres a good mix of humor.

A review for 'Do You Love Football?'

This book was about Jon Gruden's life. It is a biography written by Vic Carucci. Gruden is a coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an NFL football team. As a child, Jon's father was in the NFL coaching business. This forced his family to move quite frequently. He started playing football seriously as a quarterback for Dayton University. He calls himself a 'Ham and Eggs' quarterback in the book. This means like way down the depth chart. His dream of playing in the NFL was unreachable, so he started looking for other ways to become involved with professional football personnel. This was cut short when he realized he was still too young to coach in the NFL. He became an assistant to Walt Harris, who was the coach for the Tennessee Volunteers. Some of his duties were watching Harris' children, caring for his lawn, and any house duties that needed to be done. Jon coached at many other locations before getting his first head coaching shot in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles. From there he went to the Oakland Raiders then to Tampa Bay. He is the youngest coach in NFL history to win a Super Bowl. He was 39 when he accomplished this. This book is more about Gruden's life and how he had to work to get to the NFL. This book made me realize how hard he has worked. I would recommend this book to all football fans because it is not just a biography, it has a few game situations. I thought of the book 'Every Down, Every Distance' after I read this one. That one is also written by Vic Carucci. I would give this book a 9 out of 10.
